An officer with the Cayuga County Jail  has been charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a Moravia house Wednesday night.

The Citizen reports Frederick Kuhn, a jail supervisor, went off the road on State Route 38A near the correctional facility before crashing a pickup truck into the house.

He also faces charges of driving an unregistered vehicle, having an open container of alcohol in the truck, and unsafely moving from lane.

Kuhn will be placed on administrative leave.

The Moravia Fire Department reported the crash Wednesday night on Facebook and added Kuhn was taken via 4 Town Ambulance to Upstate University Hospital.
